Princesses, Ballerinas and Girlie Girls

My niece, Tabby, called me and asked if I could make her a tutu.  I have always wanted to make a tutu so here I go and jump in.  I usually don’t follow a pattern I just look at the final product and figure it out.  Each tutu is made with 16 yards of tulle.  to make it as full as it could be .
I have the best sewing machine in the world.  I have has many sewing machines in my time from Singers, Brothers to Euro Pro but until I met my Bernina.  I only dreamed of how a machine could handle until this one.

Well back to the tutu. Tabby has been wearing her tutu every day since she has received it.  Her sisters like their’s too.  Thanks Tabby for wanting a tutu.   I just love sharing my talents and they look cute in them too!

Baby Hair

Isn’t ageing a funny thing? At my last visit to my Doctor for my annual physical she highly recommended to start taking (what Mom’s say everyday to their children) a multi-vitamin.  I haven’t always been good about this particular recommendation.  I will be good for years at a time yet some time along the routine I stop and totally forget it even exists however since my little episode last August I have been back on the vitamin train even adding additional supplements to strengthen my hair and nails.    So last night my hair dresser was complementing me on all my “baby” hairs she noticed they were about 2” long and asked me what I was doing differently.  So yeah for the hair vitamins now can someone develop a non-gray hair vitamin? That would be awesome, Right?

Jewelry Bug

I have been taking jewelry classes and workshops for the past few months.  I have really gotten into silver smithing.  It has been so much fun to take a piece of metal and turn it in to a wearable piece of art.  I know I’m just a newbie but I really like it.
I made this at my beginning soldering class a few weeks ago.
A few days later, I made these necklaces for my niece and her friend to celebrate them participating in their school talent show.  The girls danced their hearts out.  The necklaces are made with sterling silver and a copper circle soldered to the center. Then, I stamped their names around the edges for a personal effect.  I even made the chain by soldering the clasp and making the jump rings to it.
Hope to show you more soon.

Ciao,
Angela

I'm new to this

Today is the day that I join the blogging world. This is something I've wanted to do for a while but haven't taken the plunge.  After my sister announced her blog http://tobyandabbie.blogspot.com/ to the family & the world.  It gave me inspiration that I too could blog my ideas and accomplishments.  Thanks Bee!

This week is one of my favorite weeks each year.  We start it off by celebrating Pi Day (3.14) then quickly move to St Pat's Day.  How much better can a week get for celebrating?  Well, one more thing is that my son comes home from school in NoCal for spring break.  How is the week for you?  What made it special?
